A Well-Educated Community Leads to Higher Workforce Aptitude

Renton Technical College (RTC), the post-secondary institution that garners the largest number of enrollments in the region, has a profound impact on the city and is continuously investing in its students, programs, and outcomes. Not only is RTC involved with Achieving the Dream, Inc. – a national nonprofit that helps millions of community college students succeed –  but the organization named Renton Technical College a Leader College because of its efforts “raising persistence and graduation rates, closing achievement gaps, and changing lives.”

Recently, Renton Technical College also celebrated the grand opening of its 63,550 square foot Automotive Technology Complex. The $20 million project expands the existing Ford ASSET (Automotive Student Service Educational Training) program, where students train to work as professional auto technicians on Ford products in ASE-certified centers. Renton employers expect the Automotive Technology Complex will help provide workforce solutions for years to come.

These jobs allow students to gain valuable work experience while receiving specialized attention and guidance from mentors.
